Highway police have arrested a truck helper along with 7,000 pieces of Yaba pills on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Padua bazar area under Comilla Sadar early Sunday.
The arrested, Jasim Uddin, 22, hails from Lama upazila of Bandarban.
Highway police (east zone) Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim said they, on a tip-off, intercepted a Dhaka-bound truck from Chittagong in Shewratali of the area round 12am and discovered the Yaba pills under chassis of the vehicle.
However, its driver managed to escape the spot.
