A woman and two children were killed in separate accidents in Chittagong. The deceased are Shaheen Akhtar, 30, Jiku, 15, and Jahedul Islam Jidan, 11.
Police said Shaheen was burnt to death at Rangunia upazila while Jiku and Jidan were killed in road accidents at Hathazari and Patia.
Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Outpost’s Nayek Jahangir Alam said Shaheen sustained severe burns following a gas explosion at home. She died while being brought to CMCH.
In a separate development, Jiku and his father were injured when a truck rammed an auto rickshaw head-on at Hathazari’s Kolabagan. They were taken to CMCH where Jiku died.
Jidan was killed after being run over by a microbus at Patia’s Munsef Bazar, police said.
