To raise awareness about cancer and encourage its prevention, detection and treatment, World Cancer Day is celebrated on February 4, every year. The theme for this year is “We can. I can” and this will explore how everyone collectively or as individuals unite the whole world in the fight against cancer.
To commemorate World Cancer Day, Apollo Hospitals Dhaka has announced a free counselling campaign to raise awareness about cancer and its damaging consequences. On February 4, about 120 people with family history of cancer had registered with Apollo for free counselling services. This free counselling session will continue till February 14, 2016.
R Basil, the CEO of the hospital stated that cancer is preventable and curable if intervened at the right time. He also added that Apollo will shortly be launching multiple customer awareness campaigns and cancer prevention programs.
