The government has decided to appoint Tarik Ahsan as the next high commissioner to Pakistan.
He will be replacing Suhrab Hossain, says a Foreign Ministry press release.
Tarik Ahsan is currently serving as the High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka.
In his diplomatic career he served in Bangladesh missions in New York, Riyadh, Jakarta and Berlin.

Earlier in December last year, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan, Suhrab Hossain, was recalled by the Foreign Ministry.
Suhrab was appointed as the high commissioner for two years in 2010 and got extension twice for four years.
