Bangladesh Bank has asked the country's 56 commercial banks to use transparent glass in all ATM booths.
BB Executive Director Subhankar Saha made the statement while talking to journalists after emerging from a meeting with all commercial banks officials at the central bank headquarters in Dhaka on Wednesday.
He also requested all women to uncover their faces at the time of transaction in ATM booths, reports BSS.
Subhankar said: "Bangladesh Bank has taken every steps to check the fraudulence in ATM booths of banks.”
BB asked all banks to install anti-skimming devices at all of their ATM booths to check fraudulent activities and ensure security of the depositors' money, the executive director said.
Besides, the BB stated that all the new ATM booths should have the similar devices from the very beginning.
The bank also advised to provide necessary training to the ATM guards to help protect ATM booths and check unauthorised transactions there.
The central bank said it is compulsory that all banks should ensure automated SMS to their clients' mobile phones regarding any ATM transaction.
