Theatre troupe Swapnadal has been invited to stage Tringsho Swatabdi and Chitragada, two of their acclaimed productions, at the international theatre and folk-festival titled Rang Rajasthan 2016 to be held in Rajasthan, India.
The troupe will perform Tringsha Shatbdi and Chitragada at the renowned Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, on February 28 and February 29 respectively.
Tringsho Shatabdi, a play against the madness of war, depicted the after-effects of the atomic explosion of Hiroshima-Nagasaki, one of the darkest chapters of humanity, and intertwined with the genocide during Bangladesh’s Liberation War and other global turmoils as well. Zahid Repon directed the play, adapted from the original script by Badal Sarkar.
The second play, Tagore’s poetic drama version of Chitrangada, highlights the inner beauty of soul over the physical beauty through the affair of the legend Arjun and Manipuri princess named Chitrangada as mentioned in the epic Mahabharat.
The troupe will fly to Rajasthan on February 24.
