A fire that had broken out at at a high-rise apartment building in Shantinagar area in Dhaka has been brought under control.
The fire broke out at a flat on the 10th floor of the 22-storey building around 1am Wednesday, reports UNB.
Fire Service headquarters Warehouse Inspector Ataur Rahman said: “Eight firefighting units went to the spot and doused the blaze around 2:40am.”
He said around six people were sent to hospital as they fell sick due to suffocation.
However, the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
