A hijra has been shot allegedly by another hijra centring a conflict over money collection in Uttara area in Dhaka.
Manik alias Sejuti, 26, was shot in front of capital's Rajib Market in Uttara's sector 7 on Tuesday morning. She was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
However, Sejuti claimed that the goons that attacked her were fake hijras.
Sejuti's friend Rina told the Dhaka Tribune: “Four to five hijras ridding on motorcycles shot Sejuti in front of the market around 11am.”
She said there has been a long time conflict between their ground leader Kachi and Sejuti's brother Kamal over the collection of money in Uttara.
She also claimed that the hired goons of Kachi attacked Sejuti over the rivalry.
Bidhan Tripura, deputy commissioner of police of Uttara division, said police went to the spot and were investigating into the incident.
DMCH police outpost Sub-Inspector Sentu Das said the injured is out of danger.
