It has been confirmed that Sadma, Sridevi and Kamal Haasan’s hit movie is going for a remake. As far as lead roles are concerned, Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan may just be bagging the leads.
The duo has worked together for Ram-Leela and Dil Dhadakne Do but due to some other issues, they may not be able to really cinch the deal with Sadma. DNA India reports that casting director Mukesh Chabbra had teamed up with Lloyd on the search for some A-listers for Sadma to essay the roles played by Kamal and Sridevi respectively.
The film follows the story of a woman who regresses to childhood after a head injury in a car crash and is later rescued from a brothel by a teacher.
Another report informs that Kareena Kapoor Khan has been approached to play Nehalata in the film. Though she has not signed on the dotted line, Bebo is said to be quite kicked about the role and the opportunity to essay a role once played by her idol, Sridevi. Some isolated reports in December 2015, indicate that Bajirao Mastani star Ranveer Singh has been approached to play the award-winning role of Somprakash! Kareena seems rather excited at the opportunity to essay the role of played initially by her idol, Sridevi. The report further adds that Singh has also been approached for the male lead in the film.
