British Labour MPs to visit Dhaka

Three British Labour Party MPs will arrive in Dhaka on February 13 on a five-day visit.

Sir Keir Starmer, an influential Labour leader and shadow home minister at the parliament, will lead the delegation. The other two MPs are Stephen Timms and Steve Reed.

A government official told Dhaka Tribune that they would have meetings with President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and other dignitaries.

Three Bangladesh-origins British parliament members are all belonged to Labour Party. They are Rushanara Ali, Tulip Rizwana Siddiq and Rupa Asha Huq.
