Twenty five students of a school in Nagarkanda upazila suddenly fell ill yesterday with symptoms of mass hysteria.
Shahjahan Sarder, headmaster of Bil Gobindopur High School, said, a female student suddenly fell unconsciousness during assembly in the morning.
Later, some students also fell sick in the classroom and some other on their way home with the same symptoms.
Among thm, 23 students were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Resident Medical Officer of the hospital Dr. Shafiullah said the students were affected by mass hysteria or mass psychogenic illness and they will return home within in 12 hours.
