Police have rescued two children from Ispahani area in Bandar Upazila of Narayangaj, five days after they were abducted from Gazipur.
The law enforcers also arrested two – Hafsa Akhter and Taslima Akhter for alleged involvement in kidnapping.
Rupganj police station sub Inspector Jahangir Alam told the Dhaka Tribune that two children were abducted on January 29 from Ganganagar area and demanded ransom from their family.
Police conducted a special drive in the area on January 31 and arrested Hafsa and Taslima. The arrestees informed the location where the children were locked after an interrogation on remand, he said.
The official also said police will conduct more raids to arrest abductors involved with the kidnapping.
