Pakistan High Commissioner in Dhaka has been summoned in protest of the brief disappearance of a Bangladesh foreign mission official.
In reply to the summon, Pakistan High Commissioner Shuja Alam attended the foreign ministry office in the Secretariat around 1pm on Tuesday, a day after the Personal Officer of Press Section in Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad Jahangir Hossain returned home after remaining traceless for seven hours.

The incident happened hours after a Pakistan official was arrested by police in Dhaka.
Acting foreign secretary Khurshed Alam and Secretary (bilateral) Mizanur Rahman from the Bangladesh side were in the two-hour meeting with the Pakistan high commissioner.
Following the meeting, Pakistan High Commissioner Shuja Alam told journalists that: “I have been informed of the yesterday's[Monday] incident and I will convey details to the foreign ministry after discussion with the Islamabad authorities.”
“I hope that relationship would improve in the coming days,” Shuja continued.
