Three members of Detective Branch of Police have sustained injuries when an activist of Jubo Dal stabbed them in the city's Shibbari Bus Stand area.
The injured DB members are Sub-Inspector Md Moniruzzaman, Assistant Sub-Inspector Md Sumon and Constable Md Ershad.
OC Khondokar Md Rezaul Hasan of Joydebpur police station said: “Local Jubo Dal activist Sharafat Ali locked in an altercation with SI Moniruzzaman over a trivial issue at a local tea stall around 7:30pm Monday.
“At one stage of quarrel, Sharafat attacked Moniruzzaman with a knife, leaving him injured. Hearing the cry of Moniruzzaman,Sumon and Ershad rushed in and tried to rescue the SI. But, they also received injuries.”
Sharafat has been captured with the knief on Monday night, said the OC.
The DB members have been admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.
