The authorities concerned have resumed ferry movement on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River after about three and half hours.
The temporary ferry disruption started from 7am Sunday and remained continued till around 10:15am. Normalcy returned to the service when the visibility amid fog improved.
Both Paturia Ferry Ghat Manager (commerce) Salahuddin and Daulatdia Manager (commerce) Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed it to the Bangla Tribune, a sistern concern of the Dhaka Tribune.
They said unusual dense fog pushed them to suspend movement of 16 ferries used to ply on the route.
Some 12 ferries loaded with vehicles were anchored at Daulatdia ghat while four at Paturia ghat. Besides, hundreds of vehicles got stuck on both sides of the route.
