Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has ordered all Palli Bidyut Samity units to stop internal irregularities such as nepotism, unaccountability, unethical commissioning of contractors and extortion.
BERC chief AR Khan ordered to stop these irregularities while addressing a conference of general managers of 77 Palli Bidyut Samity units yesterday, said a press release of Rural Electrification Board. He said the irregularities, if not stopped, would spoil the success of Palli Bidyut Samity.
When the samity’s general managers raised the demand for re-fixing electricity prices, Khan said the commission would think about it later but no work should be stopped before a decision was made.
