Railway communication on the Rajshahi-Khulna route to the capital has been restored after two hours of suspension.
A train suddenly went out of order in Meerergaon area under Gazipur city on Friday morning.
However, no casualty was reported in the incident that took place on Friday morning when the train driver managed to stop the moving train soon after the glitch.
Confirming the disruption Joydevpur Railway Junction Station Master Md Shahidul Islam said: “A flexicoil spring and pin of a bogie of Dhaka-bound “Ekata Express” from Dinajpur have broken down in Meerergaon area around 8:15am, resulting train services on the Dhaka-Rajshahi-Khulna route disrupted. Later, the train moved towards its destination at 10:15am when a technical team from my station fixed the glitch.”
Meanwhile, Rajshahi-bound Dhumketo Express at Joydevpur junction, Khulna-bound Sundarbans Express at Tongi junction, Dhaka-bound Rangpur Express at Mauchak station, Dhaka-bound Nilsagar Express at Mirzapur station, Dhaka-bound Chapaimail at Mohera station got stranded owing to the two-hour disruption.
When contacted, Joydevpur Railway Police outpost In-charge Md Dadan Miah confirmed of returning normalcy on the busy rail route.
