The premier of Prolambito Prahor, a brand new production of Natyam Repertory, will be held today at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 7pm.
Directed by Irin Pervin Lopa, the play is an adaptation of David Hare’s The Vertical Hour while has Abdus Selim adapted the play in Bangla.
Ataur Rahman, Mita Chowdhury, Nur Jaman Raja, Lita Khan and A K Azad Shetu will perform various roles in the third production brought on stage by the repertory. Junaid Eusuf is behind the scenography and stage lighting while by Ahsan Reza Khan Tusher has composed music for the play.
The play chronicles the story of Nadia Bashir, a famous university professor who was a war correspondent at Bosnia-Herzegovina in the 90s, and a supporter of the Iraq war in 2003. The play depicts how the resonance of the Iraq war haunts Nadia, causing disturbance in her personal and professional life.
