There are 9,379 hijras and 12,85,001 harijans community people in the country, according to a survey report conducted between 2015-16.
State Minister for Social Welfare Promode Mankin came up with the statistics in Parliament replying to a question on Thursday.
The state minister also said as of January 19, 2016, doctors identified a total of 14,88,008 disabled persons across the country under a separate survey programme.
The data of disabled persons are being kept in software, he added.
The junior minister said the government has taken various programmes for education, training, employment and development of the disabled persons.
