The ‘cutters’ are not getting exposed easily

Update : 26 Jan 2016, 06:29 PM

Tigers pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman is unlikely to be featuring in the forthcoming Pakistan Super League, hinted Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan yesterday.

Lahore Qalandars bought the left-arm seamer for $50,000 in the auction of the PSL’s first edition last month, but Nazmul informed that they do not want to take any chances with Mustafizur who picked up a shoulder niggle during the second Twenty20 international against Zimbabwe earlier this month.

“He is physically not that strong, he is still working on building his muscles. He is very weak and he barely has any muscles. And because he expressed some pain in the last match, we will not take any chance with him,” said the BCB boss.

He added, “It will be difficult for him to play outside. We cannot take any chances before the World Cup. If he does get well soon, he will play the Asia Cup, if he stays fit then he will play the World Cup but it will be difficult to send him outside. There is very little chance for him to play in the PSL. I believe that as per his current situation, it’s difficult for us to send him.”

However, Nazmul also said the board is thinking of compensating the “cutter-master” financially for not granting him the permission. The BCB chief also expressed his disappointment over the national side’s recent performance against Zimbabwe, especially in the third and fourth T20Is.
