The rate of girls dropping out of school will diminish if child marriage is strictly controlled by the society.
Quazi Reza Ul Hasan, project coordinator of Link Up Project Bangladesh, made the observation while presenting an overview of the current sexual and reproductive heath and right situation of Bangladesh during a sensitisation and advocacy meeting on Saturday.
He also said that the control of child marriage will improve sexual and reproductive heath and right situation of Bangladesh.
The meeting was organised by Nari Maitree, an implementing partner of Link Up Project Bangladesh, and was held at Kingshuk Multi Purpose Cooperative Society Auditorium in the capital’s Mirpur.
The meeting was presided over by Tabasum Ara Rina, director of Nari Maitree.
Around 45 stakeholders from different government offices, NGOs, bus and truck labour association, local club, school students, parents, ward counsellor and project beneficiaries attend the meeting.
