Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) president and veteran journalist Altaf Mahmud has been laid to eternal rest at Rupnagar under Galachipa in Patuakhali.
After namaz-e-janaza, Altaf was buried beside his father's grave around 11am Monday.
His body was taken to Rupnagar by a helicopter on Sunday.
Altaf Mahmud died while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital on Sunday.
Altaf Mahmud, executive editor of the Bangla daily Destiny, had been suffering from neurological problems and undergoing treatment at the hospital.
