Major General Sheikh Mamun Khaled SUP PSC PhD, who is the vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Professionals, has been awarded the Chancellor Gold Medal for his PhD thesis, said a press release of Inter Service Public Relations Directorate.
The third convocation of Bangladesh University of Professionals was held on January 21, and President Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of the university, gave him the gold medal.
Maj Gen Khaled is the first person who earned a PhD degree from this university.
A total of three students were given gold medals at the convocation.
