Bangladesh Police will award 102 officers with service medals for outstanding work done in 2015.
The policemen are being recognised for their contributions to public service, courage and ability to investigate cases.
The prime minister will hand the awards over to the officers during Police Week 2016, scheduled to be held on January 26 at Rajarbagh Police Lines, in the capital.
For outstanding public service, 19 policemen will receive the Bangladesh Police Padak and 20 will receive the President Police Padak. For courage on the job and excellence in investigations, 23 officers will get the Bangladesh Police Padak and 40 will receive the President Police Padak.
Awards for Public Service
For outstanding public service, 19 policemen will receive the Bangladesh Police Padak (BPM) and 20 will receive the President Police Padak (PPM).
Six of the 19 policemen, will receive the BPM award posthumously. Fromer assistant sub-inspector of Darus Salam police station Ibrahim Mollah, former officer-in-charge of Sylhet Osmaninagar police station Mostafizur Rahman, Comilla Highway police former ASI Abdul Kalam Azad, Ishwardi's Pakshi police outpost former trainee SI Suzaul Islam, Cox's Bazar Tourist Police former constable Parvez Hossain and Meherpur former constable Alauddin Ahmed.
The other officials getting the BPM are Rapid Action Battalion bomb disposal unit officer Major Khalid Ibne Hossain, Sirajganj RAB 12 SI Monirul Islam, Dhaka Gulshan police SI Jahidul Islam, Jessore police line ASI Hayhder Ali, Rashahi RAB 5 SI Al Emran, DMP transport section Constable Morshed Alam, Chittagong Constables Monir Hossain and Md Bayejid, Faridpur DB police Constable Saikat Hossain, DMP Constable Sahidur Rahman and Rajshahi Constable Shafiqul Islam.

For courage on the job and excellence in investigations, 23 officers will get the Bangladesh Police Padak (Service) and 40 will receive the President Police Padak (Service).
