Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq has said the pledge to make Dhaka a green and clean city is a big challenge for both the mayors.
The DNCC mayor made the remark while speaking at a view exchange meeting with the editors of print and online media. The programme was held at Hotel Sonargaon on Saturday afternoon.
"It is a big challenge for us to make Dhaka a green and clean city. Our media cooperated us to face the challenge. I hope this cooperation will continue in the future," Annisul said.

"It is not for the interest of the mayors. You have to keep continue the effort for the sake of the city dwellers," he added.
All the editors present in the meeting agreed to the mayor's call and said they are even ready to spare more space to help the mayors making Dhaka a green city.
They also welcomed the initiative of the DNCC mayor.
Annisul continued: "We will turn Dhaka into a green city within three years. This mission will be implemented through volunteers who will go door to door and urge the house owners to plant trees."
He also said the city roads and footpaths would be freed from the grabbers by April.
"We will arrange for alternative spaces for the traders who are occupying roads and footpaths," said the DNCC mayor.
Among others present at the meeting are Daily Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar, Daily Janakantha Editor Atiqullah Khan Masud, Daily Prothom Alo Editor Motiur Rahman, Dhaka Tribune Editor Zafar Sobhan, Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam, Daily Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon and Amader Orthoneeti Editor Nayeemul Islam Khan.
