Toxic liquor kills 3 in Naogaon 

At least three people have died and five others become seriously ill after taking tainted liquor at Enayetpur village under Badalgachhi upazila of the district. The tragic incident took place early Saturday and the names of the deceased were revealed as Solaiman Ali, Hossain Ali and Abdul Majid.

College girl killed in Narayanganj road crash 

A college girl has been killed as a bus ran over her at Sanarparh in Siddirganj of Narayanganj. The deceased was identified as Sanoara Akhter, 18, a first year student of Dhaka Mohanagar Degree College.

Modi to release 100 declassified digital copies on Subhash Bose 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release digital copies of 100 declassified files related to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. “The National Archives of India (NAI) is placing 100 files relating to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in public domain after preliminary conservation treatment and digitization. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Netaji, the prime minister will release the digital copies of these files in public domain,” an official release said Saturday.

Chanderpaul retires from all cricket 

After more than two decades and 164 Test matches, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, one of West Indies' finest batsmen, has retired. Chanderpaul finishes as the second-highest West Indian Test run-maker, 86 runs short of Brian Lara: Lara got 11,953 (11,912 for West Indies and the rest for the ICC World XI), while Chanderpaul scored 11,867 (all for West Indies).

Google to pay £130m in backdated UK tax 

Google has agreed to pay £130m in back taxes after an "open audit" of its accounts by the UK tax authorities. The company had been accused of "not paying its fair share" of tax, and criticised for complex tax structures.

4 killed in Canada school shooting 

Four people have been killed and several injured in a school shooting in the western Canadian province of Saskatchewan, police say. They say a male suspect is now in custody and children have been moved to safety after the shooting at La Loche Community School.
