Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to address a mass rally of Sylhet district Awami League on Thursday afternoon.
The premier arrived Sylhet at 11:55am on a daylong visit to join the platinum jubilee celebration of Madan Mohan College.
She is also scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of 21 development schemes.
A six-tier security measure has been taken following the prime minister's visit.
