Three persons have been killed in a fatal road accident at Jaigirhat point near Shapla Cold Storage on the Dhaka- Rangpur highway under Mithapukur upazila.
The deceased were identified as Mithun Mian, 23, son of Lachchu Mian, Titul Mian, 25, son of Yunus Ali and Rashedul Islam, 27, son of Abdul Khaleque Uddin, of village Shirudanga under Mithapukur upazila.
The accident occurred when a Dhaka bound night coach 'Taz Paribahan' (Jessore Ba- 11-0034) from Panchagarh collided head-on with a timber-laden trolley around 11:45pm Tuesday, leaving there persons dead on the spot, said In-charge of Barodorga Highway police camp Sergeant Nazmul Haque, reports BSS.
Police forces from nearby Barodorga Highway police camp rushed to the spot, seized the killer bus and rescued the bodies with the help of the local villagers.
A case was filed in this connection with Mithapukur Thana Wednesday, the police official said.
