Agami, a non-profit organisation, has announced a partnership with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in their initiative to “Localise Khan Academy” in Bangladesh.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday morning between the two parties, to this effect.
The initiative was launched last year in July, through a partnership between Agami and Grameenphone with the goal of launching the Khan Academy Bangla website in 2016.
The signing ceremony was held in Dhaka in the presence of State Minister for the Ministry of ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Executive Director of Agami Education Foundation Ms. Nafisa Khanam, Executive Director of the Bangladesh Computer Council SM Ashraful Islam.
Since the launch of the initiative over 6 months ago, the initial phase of the website localisation work has been completed and launching of the Bangla website is expected soon.
With the inclusion of BCC, as the newest partner along with Agami and Grameenphone, the initiative can be expected to further accelerate with the long term goal of bringing the localised Bangla Khan Academy platform to students and teachers across the country in the next 3-5 years.

Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org) is a non-profit educational organisation created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan to provide "a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere".
It provides free online materials and resources to support personalised education for learners of all ages.
The Khan Academy platform contains practice exercises, instructional videos, dashboard analytics and teacher tools which empower learners in and outside of the classroom to study at their own pace.
