Striking teachers decision to come in evening

The striking public university teachers over pay scale grievances are going to sit Tuesday to make a decision considering Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's assurance of solution to their demands.

Prof ASM Kamal, secretary general of the Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers’ Association (FBUTA) told it to the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.

“After a meeting with the FBUTA members today (Tuesday), we will decide on the next course of action. We will also make a decision about whether to call off the strike,” he added.

An eight-member FBUTA delegation met the prime minister at the latter’s office yesterday and the PM assured them of meeting their demands and she requested them to call off strike for the sake of the students.
