The body of a ninth grader has been found at a farmland near Uttarbakhar Nagar Bazar in Raipura of Narsingdi.
The deceased, Taposh Kumar Bishwas, 16, was a student of Uttarbakhar Nagar High School.
Police recovered the body on Saturday afternoon.
Police said Taposh left the house on Friday evening after he had received a call on his mobile. He was missing since then.
Locals found his beheaded body at a farmland in the morning and informed police.
Narsingdi Additional Police Super Zakir Hossain Mojumdar said Taposh had received an extortion call two months ago.
"He filed a general diary with the police station in this regard," said the official.
The body was sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
