Moncho threatens to besiege Pakistan High Commission

Update : 15 Jan 2016, 08:09 PM

Gonojagoron Moncho yesterday threatened to lay siege to the Pakistani High Commission in Dhaka on January 20 if the government does not take any step to sever all ties with Pakistan for its audacity regarding the withdrawal of a Bangladeshi diplomat from Islamabad.

Moncho spokesperson Imran H Sarkar came up with the ultimatum at a rally at Shahbagh intersection in the city in the afternoon.

He said they will gather at Gulshan 2 roundabout at 3pm on January 20 and march towards the Pakistani High Commission to beige it.

“However, if the government can take any step to meet our demand, we will reconsider our programme,” he said.

Imran alleged that Pakistan is trying to turn Bangladesh into a militant and ineffective country through instigating incidents like clash in Brahmanbaria and killing of foreign nationals.

Later, the Moncho activists brought out a torch rally which ended at the starting point after parading Dhaka University’s TSC.

Earlier, Pakistan urged Bangladesh authorities to withdraw its diplomat Maushumi Rahman without citing any reason.
