Four construction workers have been killed and another has been injured as a truck ran them over at Aushkandi under Nabiganj upazila in Habiganj.
Of the deceased, two were identified as Shofiq Mia, 40, of Dhaluakhal village and Mohrom Ali, 38, of the same village.
Locals said a Sylhet-bound truck ran over the workers while they were working on Dhaka-Sylhet highway on Friday morning, killing three on the spot and injuring two others.
One of the injured died after being taken to a local hospital.
Shreepur highway police station OC Nurunobi Sarkar said the bodies have been sent to morgue for autopsy.
He said the vehicular movement of the area was disrupted for a while when angry locals blockaded the road after the accident.
