The Bangladesh Under-23 team kicked off their Bangabandhu Gold Cup 2016 campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bahrain in Jessore on Sunday.
The home side went ahead in the 18th minute through Yousuf Sifat's close range nudge before the visitors leveled from a silly misunderstanding of the Bengal defenders Rezaul Karim and Kesto Kumar. Bahrain captain Jashim al Sheikh had no mistake in scoring from the opportunity.
However, Bahrain were down to 10 men with one minute on the clock after Anwar Ali handed a cross deliberately and received his second yellow in the match.
