They are Nurul Islam, 72, from Kurigram, Farid Uddin, 72, from Natore, and Joynal Abedin, 55, from Sylhet.

Tongi police station's OC Firoz Talukder said their bodies had been sent to their homes after funeral prayers at the Ijtema grounds.

The Biswa Ijtema is the second largest congregation of Muslims after the Hajj.

The first phase of Ijtema began on Friday and will end on Sunday. Organisers say pilgrims from 93 countries are taking part in the first leg this year.
