Update : 08 Jan 2016, 08:41 AM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has opined that BNP failed to get votes from the countrymen in the immediate past municipal polls owing to its nationwide arson attacks in the name of toppling the government.

The PM made the statement while addressing an event on the occasion of distributing laptops and multimedia projectors to different educational institutions in Tungipara Bangabandhu Memorial Complex on Friday noon. Tungipara upazila administration hosted the programme.

Sheikh Hasina said: “The countrymen did not vote in favour of BNP in the municipal elections for its involvement in countrywide arson attacks.
