The mobile operators of the country would have to pay compensations for call drop from this year, State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim has said.
“From this year the mobile operators will have to give compensation for call drop,” she said while addressing a press conference at the secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.
Tarana said the auction for 4G will also be held in the current year. “We will activate dot bangla domain on February 21, on the eve of the International Mother Language Day.”
The US-based country code top level domain (CCTLD) name and address providing organisation Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) gave the permission to Bangladesh to use dot bangla (.bangla) domain in 2011.
However, Bangladesh failed to activate it in past four years despite obtaining the permission. The domains work as an international identity for a country in the worldwide web.
