Death row war convict Jamaat-e-Islami top leader Motiur Rahman Nizami’s lawyer Khandker Mahbub Hossain has said his client would decide regarding making the review appeal after getting the full verdict.
Mahbub said this while talking to journalists on the Supreme Court premises immediate after it upheld death sentence for Nizami on Wednesday morning.
“Our client will decide regarding review petition,” he said.
The apex court upheld capital penalty for Nizami on three charges and life imprisonment on two charges. However, it acquitted him of three other charges.
According to the case, Nizami headed al-Badr force during the bloodiest war as the head of Islami Chhatra Sangha, Jamaat’s erstwhile student wing.
