Bangladesh Bank has extended the time of loan rescheduling under its relaxed policy for cold storage till March 31, 2016.
The cold storage that turned defaulter will be entitled to get advantages of loan blocking and rescheduling under the policy announced by the central bank earlier, said a circular Bangladesh Bank issued yesterday.
No more application of loan rescheduling under the relaxed policy will be considered after the new deadline, said the circular.
The central bank announced rehabilitation package for cold storage allowing them to reschedule default loans under the policy for two months from the circular that came into effect earlier on January 29, 2015.
But scheduled banks continued to send applications of loan rescheduling from the farmers to the central bank.
Under the circumstances Bangladesh Bank extended the deadline again favouring the cold storage, said the circular with taking immediate effect.
But the loan accounts which have already been rescheduled under the relaxed policy will not be considered any more.
