A suspected robber has been killed in a “gunfight” with the members of Rapid Action Battalion at Enayetpur in Tangail.
The deceased is Mostofa, 35, son of Tofil Uddin of Sholakori village.
Tangail RAB 12 Crime Prevention Company (CPC 3) Commander Mohammad Mohiuddin Faruki said: “A gang of 11 robbers swooped into the house of one Arjun around 3:30am Monday.
“On information, a patrolling team of RAB went to the spot. The robbers hurled two hand bombs on the targeting the members of the elite force.”
In retaliation, members of RAB fired back that left one of the robbers dead. Later, the members of RAB detained the other ten robbers from the pot.
Meanwhile, arms, looted gold ornaments and cash were recovered from the spot.
