The Common Nordic Embassy at Bay’s Edgewater Building in the capital’s Gulshan area will be formally inaugurated this month.
The Common Nordic Embassy was established by the embassies of Denmark, Norway and Sweden in July, but it will be formally inaugurated in January, Danish Ambassador to Dhaka Hanne Fugl Eskjær told the Dhaka Tribune.
The countries have joint chancery in other places in the world, including a robust joint chancery in Berlin, Germany.
This is the second joint chancery in Bangladesh; the first one was set up by France and Germany last year.
“For the three countries, it is natural to work very closely together since we have much in common in relation to, among other things, language, values, culture and priorities in Bangladesh. Together we are stronger and together we can do more for Bangladesh,” the Danish ambassador said.
She said green and sustainable growth of Bangladesh is an important focus area for the Nordic countries.
“Since the three Nordic countries are front runners in the area of green technologies, innovation and a sustainable approach to business, we can promote and share these solutions with Bangladesh,” she said.
