Qatar to recruit more Bangladeshi professionals

Qatar has expressed its keen interest to recruit more professionals and skilled workers from Bangladesh in the country's construction, hospitality and service sectors.

Qatar Minister for Labour and Social Affairs Dr Abdullah bin Saleh Al Khulaifi showed their willingness regarding the matter when Bangladesh Ambassador to Qatar Ashud Ahmed met him at his office Tuesday.

“We discussed about growing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Qatar, especially the impressive growth rate in manpower recruitment from Bangladesh,” Ashud said.

The minister in the meeting briefed about new labour law of Qatar and underlined that the latest amendment in the law would ensure rights of the workers, the ambassador said.

“I told the labour Minister that Bangladesh is ready to provide a pool of professionals,” he said.

A total of 2,80,000 Bangladeshi workers are presently employed in Qatar.
