Air strike kills Bangladeshi IS militant in Syria

Update : 30 Dec 2015, 10:22 AM

An alleged militant of the Islamic State originating from Bangladesh has been killed in an air strike in Syria.

Syrian-based Bangladeshi Saiful Haque Sujan was killed near Raqqa on December 10, reports the Washington Post.

Army Colonel Steve Warren, the top spokesman for US-led military coalition, listed the names of 10 IS militants including the Bangladeshi one who were killed in the air strike.

“My point is this: We will continue to hunt ISIL leaders who are working to recruit, plan and inspire attacks against the United States of America and our allies,” Warren said, using an acronym for the Islamic State militant group.

The attacks in Paris killed 130 people on November 13. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident, and the suspected leader of the attackers, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was killed in a police raid in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis five days later.
