NOVOAIR, a private airliner of the country, added its 4th aircraft ATR72-500 to its fleet yesterday. NOVOAIR officials received the aircraft at 6:00pm at Hazrat Shahjalal international airport in the city.
ATR72-500 is a joint venture French-Italian manufactured ultra-efficient and technologically advanced aircraft with 68 spacious and comfortable seats.
Another two ATR72-500 series aircraft will be added to the airliner’s fleet by this January 2016, which will increase the fleet size to six.
The newly inducted aircraft will operate on regular flight services between Dhaka and regional routes including Saidpur, Rajshahi, Barisal.
Novoair kicked off its domestic operation on January 9, 2013 with a fleet of three Embraer aircraft. Of them, two were purchased while the other was taken on lease.
The private airliner has so far operated 4,500 flights and carried 150,000 passengers. In 2014, it received the best domestic airline award in the local aviation industry.
