A labourer has been killed in an oxygen cylinder blast at Chowdhury Bari in Narayanganj's Shiddhirganj.
The deceased is Jibon Islam, 32, of Khulna.
Jibon's co-workers Rabiul and Shahidul said five to six labourers went to Shiddhirganj with oxygen cylinders on a pickup van.
One of the cylinders fell into the road and it blasted while being lifted to the vehicle around 10am Monday, leaving Jibon severely burnt.
He was rushed to a local hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead on arrival.
Khanpur 300-Bed Hospital's emergency unit doctor Iftekhar Ahmed said Jibon had died before he was taken to the hospital.
