The government will appoint AKM Majibur Rahman Bhuiyan, currently serving as a director general in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the next Bangladesh ambassador to Iran.
Earlier, he served in Bangladesh Embassy in New Delhi, Tehran, Tokyo and Thimphu in different capacities, a foreign ministry press release said.
As a diplomat, he has extensive experience and specialization in bilateral and multilateral issues, it added.
Bhuiyan, a career diplomat, belongs to the 1986 batch of BCS (FA) cadre.
In addition to foundation training courses, Bhuiyan completed Oxford Foreign Service Program from Oxford University and NDC course.
