Kamal: Madrasa students not involved with IS, JMB

Assertions of Madrasa students' involvemment in recent foreigner killings and attacks on the Christians is wrong, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said.

He said Jamaat-Shibir men are behind the incidents and they are blaming that Madrasa students are getting involve with IS and JMB and doing the killings.

Kamal said, the killings and attacks have been funded by some foreign vested quarters.

“All of those are contractual killings aiming to destroy the peace and development of Bangladesh.”

Jamaat-Shibir men are also misleading the students of private universities to get involve with IS and JMB and using them in killings, the home minister said.

On September 28, Italian citizen Cesare Tavella was murdered in the capital’s Gulshan diplomatic zone. Later police arrested MA Matin, brother of BNP leader MA Quayum, in connection with the murder.

The minister said IS's claim on Site Intelligence website about their involvement in killing Italian citizen is false.

He added: “If IS was behind why they killed the Japanese citizen who had been turned into a Muslim.”

The home minister came up with the remarks while addressing a view exchange meeting in Krishikbid Institute in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

On October 3, Japanese national Hoshi Kunio was shot dead by masked assailants in Kownia in Rangpur district.
