Ex-minister Altaf's motorcade attacked in Patuakhali 

The motorcade of former home minister and BNP leader Altaf Hossain Chowdhury came under attack by miscreants during municipality polls campaign. At least 10 people, including Altaf's wife Suraiya Begum Chowdhury, have reportedly been injured in the incident.

Shobdo Soinik Rashedul Hossain dies 

Shobdo Soinik Rashidul Hossain, one of the organisers of Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, has died of old-age complications at a hospital early Tuesday. He was 72. Rashidul breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital around 3:15am, BSS quoted BSMMU Director Brigadier General (Retd) Abdul Majid Bhuiyan.

Ten die as plane crashes in Delhi 

A light aircraft has crashed on take-off near the airport in the Indian capital, Delhi, killing 10 people. The Beechcraft King Air plane chartered by India's Border Security Force (BSF) came down after hitting a wall in Dwarka district and burst into flames. The plane was carrying members of the border patrol force, officials said.

BSF firing kills cattle trader in Thakurgaon 

A Bangladeshi cattle trader has been killed in shooting by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Bosalgaon border in Haripur upazila of the district. The incident took place around 4am Tuesday. The victim is Sree Hemanto, 32. Details about him could not known yet.

6 Shibir men held with hand bombs in Dhaka 

Police have detained six activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islam, along with hand bombs from a residence in Rampura area in Dhaka. The detainees are Jakir Hossain, 23, Mohammad Shafique, 25, Mohammad Rony, 25, Mohammad Rumman Hossain, 22, Mohammad Ataur Rahman, 23, and Mohammad Abdul Quader, 24.

Kenyan Muslims shield Christians in Mandera bus attack 

A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus ambushed by Islamist gunmen protected Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups, according to eyewitnesses. They told the militants "to kill them together or leave them alone", a local governor told Kenyan media.
