Worker electrocuted in Chittagong

A construction worker has been electrocuted while working at an under-construction building at Bakalia in Chittagong.

The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.

Bakalia police station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Rasel said the incident took place at the fourth floor on a six-storey building in Maidar Mill area of Bakalia.

“The youth aged about 20 years fell off the fourth floor after being electrocuted by a hanging wire while he was working there”, The SI told the Dhaka Tribune.

The co-workers rushed him at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where he was pronounced dead by on duty physicians, said Nayek Hamidur Rahman of CMCH police outpost.

The body was sent to the CMCH morgue while an unnatural death case was lodged in this connection.
