The best news for Porimoni this year is undoubtedly the confirmation of her lead role in Giasuddin Selim’s upcoming film Swapnajal.
After her portrayal in Rana Plaza (yet to be released) and Mohua Sundori, the screen diva bags another opportunity to work in a film with a different role.
Although she is yet to officially sign the contract, director Selim has assured that the formalities will be done soon.
Selim, famed for his movie Monpura, announced his new feature film Swapnajal after a hiatus of seven years. Monpura, his debut film, was lauded by audience from all over the country. Selim had since made several announcements of his new film, but with no success of it nearing completion.
Finally, he announced his new film Swapnajal, having once admitted that he was having trouble finding the right person for the female lead.
It now seems that Porimoni is the face he was looking for. The film will depict stories of two countries - Bangladesh and India. The shooting, which is scheduled to begin on January 15, will take place around Chandpur and Kolkata.
A debutante Yash Rohan will be seen as the male lead alongside Porimoni while Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shilpi Sarkar Apu, Wahida Mallik Jolly, Iresh Zaker and Prosun Azad will don the other major roles.
As in his previous venture, Selim has delegated the responsibility of music direction to the talented Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, whose music had a significant role in making Selim’s previous film Monpura come under the spotlight. The film will be produced by Bengal Creations.
